Original Drawings: I draw using super-fine (005) pens on Bristol Board or other smooth paper. Customers say that they like to collect more than one drawing so I generally draw (and print) to specific sizes. Each townscape is thoroughly researched, using historical information to build the final story. There are set themes and contents, for example tallest buildings, demolished buildings, front row composition, inclusion of churches and pubs and more. Each drawing tells just one possible viewpoint.
Ordering Originals: Please get in touch first by email or phone/text if you would like to purchase an original. We sell via several routes and it may be that the original has just been sold (but before there's been time to update this web site).
Prints: All limited edition fine art prints are produced on a high quality commercial giclee printer, using pigment inks and acid-free archival print paper. Each print is signed and marked with the sequence/edition number (for example, 15/249). There is also a key (listing image contents) and a sheet confirming print/edition, size and care/longevity information.
Mounts: Medium originals and prints are supplied in a quartz (light speckled grey, black core) mount that fits a standard 8 inch by 10 inch frame. Examples of prints with mount can be found in individual product listings.
Print sizes: Medium prints fit a mount aperture 5 inches by 7 inches, and are supplied in a mount that fits a standard 8 inch by 10 inch frame. Large prints are produced on A4 paper, with an image that typically fits an 8 inch by 8 inch or 8 inch by 10 in aperture. Extra-large or other print sizes depend on the subject.
Print colours: Prints are always available in white, grey and then other colour options depending on the subject. 'Highlight' is based on the grey, with other limited spot colours. 'Pale city' is a series with pop art shades with a slightly different grey base.
Originals and prints are individually cellophane wrapped. Large and extra-large prints/originals are supplied without a mount and may be shipped flat or rolled, depending on product and size. Medium prints are supplied with a quartz (light speckled grey, black core mount) and are shipped flat.

Original drawings size may vary depending on the drawing itself. When purchased on-line for postal or courier shipping, small and medium drawings are supplied with a mount and shipped flat but large and extra-large drawings are supplied without a mount and shipped either flat or rolled depending on actual dimensions. Cards are commercially printed blank greetings cards, available until stock is exhausted. Each one is individually wrapped in a cellophane bag and comes with an envelope. Cards are approximately 4 inches by 6 inches.
Art Cards are blank greetings cards that are smaller versions of our fine art prints: high quality commercial giclee printer using pigment inks and acid-free archival print paper. Each one is individually wrapped in a cellophane bag and comes with an envelope. Card size may vary slightly depending on the drawing. Some are produced as a mini-print that can be removed from the card itself (for framing); some are printed directly onto the card (but can still be framed, if you wish).
